Webster

Webster describes his relationships with others in detail. It almost seems like he does not leave out any detail about anyone. His relationshipp with hisbest friends almost seem unbreakable. They tend to think alike in certain situations with the exception of Adrian. Even Adrian is the newest member of the group, he is the one that the rest of the boys look up to for aproval. I really liked theline where Webster expalins that him, Colin, and Alex look up to Adrian and crave to be the one Adrian is closest to. Once again I am curious about Adrian. Out of the four boys he was the only one who recieved a scholarship even though they are all highly intellegent boys. The fact that the boys believed or wanted to believe that Adrian was not making any friends at university in a way frustrated me. I understood that they wanted to remain his closest friends but if they really did care about him they would not want him to be alone at university. Just like Webster keeps repeating, time changes everything and it was time thatmthe boys grew up and stopped planting fantasies inside their heads.

Webster's girlfriend bothers me. She seems to be a little too condescending towards Webster especially when it came to studies. The comment she made abouts him having to start thinking for himself frustrated me. Since when does remembering what a teacher once told you or explained to you not thinking for yourself? Webster, in the first couple pages, praised himself for being an individual and not really conforming but once his girlfriend made one comment about his watch, he found everything he once did childish. In my opinion, keeping the same habits that yoh once had when you were close to certain people is not childish but cute. It serves as a memory and a bond that will last forever.
